The 2018 Mortgage Choice Hills Football League Senior Mail Medal counts were held on Wednesday evening at the Hahndorf Mill. As a club the Woods polled 113 across the A and B Grades, the fourth most of the eight clubs in Division 1.

A Grade

Scott Bricknell and Ryan Anderson lead the way for the Woods polling 15 and 13 votes each to finishing inside the top 10. Bricknell twice was awarded best on ground in Round 4 against Hahndorf and Round 5 against Onkaparinga Valley whilst Anderson was judged best player on three occasions in Rounds 3, 6 and 13.

As a team, the Woods polled a total of 60 votes (third most) with eleven individual players polling a single vote. Blackwood had the best player on the ground in ten matches and polled all six available votes in six rounds (Rounds 3,5,7,12,13 and 15).

B Grade

Ruckman led the way for the Woods in the B Grade with veteran Nick Work polling 13 votes to finish in fourth position whilst Lucas Herbert finished with eight votes in equal thirteenth. Work was awarded best on ground only once (Round 9 against Echunga) but recorded being the second best player on five occasions (the most in the competition). For Herbert he was awarded best player on two occasions (Round 8 against Mt Lofty and Round 16 against Echunga).

As a team the Woods scored 53 votes in total (fourth most) with fourteen individual players polling a single vote. Blackwood was judged to have the best player on the ground in 9 matches and polled all six available votes in only two rounds (Rounds 5 and 7).
