Round 18 of the Mortgage Choice Hills Football League sees the Blackwood Football Club host the Mt Barker Roos in the final home and away match of the season.
The all-important clash at U-Install-It Kitchens Oval sees the Woods having the win the match to jump into the top five and secure a finals berth. Currently sitting in sixth position on the ladder, the Woods sit 2.63 percent or 108 points behind Mt Lofty in fifth whilst Echunga sit level with the Woods on points in seventh but 0.97 percent or 42 points behind.
In the previous meeting between the sides in Round 9, the Woods kicked three goals to none in the final quarter to over run the Barkeroos and record their fifth an eight point victory. Lucas Herbert lead the way up forward kicking two goals whilst Jake Atkinson was named best player.
In other grades, the B Grade will be looking to bounce back from successive defeats with a victory keeping a top three finish alive (depending on other results). The senior colts will be looking to continue their good form whilst the Junior Colts will be looking to secure a victory and top spot on the ladder. The Mini Colts face the top of the table Barkeroos with a victory securing second position on the ladder.
The day also features Sponsors Day and the last Axemen’s Luncheon of the season.
