The Blackwood Football Club has named a 22 player squad for the Round 5 clash against the Uraidla Districts Football Club on Saturday afternoon. Midfielder Josh Taylor comes into the squad having had some outstanding form in the B Grade being named in the best players in all three games played by the Woods. The final squad will be confirmed by Senior Coach Ryan Anderson on Friday afternoon.
Speaking at selections on Thursday evening, Senior Coach Ryan Anderson said the side was ready for the contest. “We’ve worked on areas we needed to improve over the weekend off. The squad is ready to go.”
In the twos, Ryan Williams come into the side for the first time this season having returned from injury via the C grade last Sunday whilst the C Grade has six changes from the previous weekend with Sam Bannister, Nathan Pinch, Daniel Martens, Josh Thompson, Jonathan Wishart and Nick Zevenboom coming into the squad. For Pinch and Zevenboom it will be their first senior games in the red and the green whilst Martens plays his first game since 2010 and Wishart his first since the winning C Grade Grand Final in 2017.
The Senior Colts welcome back Harri Bailye, Jules Marjanac, Eduard Van Den Berg and Sam Zevenboom back into the squad with Bailye, Van Den Berg and Zevenboom returning from the SANFL Under 18s due to the state league bye.
