After a weekend off for most with the June long weekend/Interleague bye, Mortgage Choice Hills Football League action returns this weekend with the Woods travelling to Hanson Oval in Mt Barker to play the second placed Barkeroos. The Woods are currently in fifth position on the ladder with four wins and three losses whilst Mt Barker sit in second position with five wins and two losses.

In 2018, the sides met on three occasions with Blackwood winning twice by 12 points in Round 7 and 11 points in the first semi-final whilst the Barkeroos won once by 20 points in Round 14. Since 2006, there has been 13 matches between the sides at Mt Barker Oval with the records standing at four wins to the Woods, eight wins to the Barkeroos and one draw. The last victory for the Woods over the Barkeroos at the venue came in 2016 when the stand in coach Simon Hughes lead the side to a 29 point victory. In other matches, the Mini Colts (Under 13s) poises to be a close battle with the sides sitting in first and second position whilst the B Grade is second v fifth, the senior colts second v sixth and the junior colts first v fourth.
