The Blackwood Football Club would like to congratulate current junior Henry Smith who has been named starting full-forward in the 2019 Torrens University SA Under 16 team which begins its title defence with its first match of the AFL National Championships this Sunday at 1.45pm against Western Australia in Perth.

Smith has played 92 junior games for the club from 2013 to 2018 where the kicked 34 goals and was named in the better players on 25 occasions (27.2 percent). In 2019, Smith has been plying his skills down at Woodville-West Torrens – along with his brother Caleb – in the Under 18s competition where he has played four matches averaging 7.3 disposals, 3.3 tackles and 18.0 hit-outs per match.

The club would also like to congratulate former junior Daniel Sladojevic who has been been named starting full-forward in the Torrens University SA Under 18 team for Game 1 against Western Australia on Saturday afternoon at Perth’s Optus Stadium. Sladojevic played 66 junior games for the Woods between 2011 and 2015 kicking 172 goals (2.6 per game) which included three matches were he kicked 10 goals or more.
