It’s not very often a player plays 300 games, yet alone for one club, in fact it has only happened seven times in the history of the Blackwood Football Club. This Saturday, Nick Work becomes the eighth player to reach this milestone for the Woods. He joins some of the most famous names of the club to reach this milestone including Peter Sandford, Greg Langham, Barry Nicolle, Les Gillard, Ian Gifford, Gary Bonner and Simon Edwards.

Coming through the junior ranks of the club, Nick progressed into the Senior playing group in 2005 and has had a remarkable longevity since then. The ruckman-forward has played a total of 76 A Grade, 214 B Grade and 9 C Grade matches during this time averaging at least 17 games across the 17 seasons he has played to Round 8 2021 to reach the milestone at a remarkable young 34 years of age.

Some career highlights across the journey for Nick include playing in five premierships sides (B Grade 2008, B Grade 2011, B Grade 2012, B Grade 2014 and B Grade 2015), being named club best player in the 2011 and 2012 premierships, finishing third in the 2011 Reserves Hills Football League Mail Medal Count and being the 2020 B grade leading goal kicker.

Congratulations on reaching 300 games Nick!
