Rhys Sporn, has committed to playing on with the Red and Green for the 2022 Hills Football League season.

The 29 year-old midfielder/forward has played 56 matches and kicked 33 goals since making his debut back in 2012.

“I’m incredibly happy to commit to the Woods,” expressed Sporn.

“I am very excited because our group has that genuine belief and desire to be the best they can be. I desperately want to ensure we achieve success for our dedicated members and the next generation of players at the club,”

“We took huge steps in 2021, developing our game whilst also pushing many of the best teams in the competition,”

“I believe this season offered incredible learning and development and our group is now ready to take the next step.”

Senior coach Scott Prebble said re-signing Sporn was important on multiple levels.

“Rhys is an integral part of our midfield pack and has stepped up to a mentoring role, helping our younger players in their preparation,”

“The Sporn family has had a proud history with Woods, and we look forward to continue to watch Rhys run around in the red and green.”
