This weekend sees two of our SANFL Juniors girls sides (Under 17.5 and Under 15) play for the chance to make the 2021 SANFL Juniors Grand Final.
Our Under 17s side coached by Simon Manser finished in second position on the ladder after the end of the minor round. This weekend they come up against the Mitcham Hawks (game details here) with the winner to lock in a Grand Final position. In the one previous encounter between the sides in Round 8, Lily Boyd, Leila-Grace Ward and Libby Willetts combined for six goals as the Woods secured a 58 point victory.
Our Under 15s side coached by Dan Smith booked a preliminary final spot after defeating Tea Tree Gully by 39 points last Sunday afternoon. This weekend, the side travels to play the Glenunga Rams at home on Sunday afternoon (game details here). In the two encounters between the sides in 2021, the combined winning margin for both games has been four points with Blackwood being pipped at the post by two points in both games in Round 6 and Round 13
