The Blackwood Football Club would like to congratulate star junior Lily Whitcombe on making her debut for the Sturt SANFL Women’s side against Glenelg this weekend in Round 1 of the Statewide Super SANFL Womens League.

Whitcombe is the seventh Blackwood junior player to make their debut at league level over the past two seasons with Scarlett Griffiths, Taylah Jayne, Tamika May, Kiera Mueller, Olivia Smith, Zoe Venning all making their debuts. She will play alongside her fellow Blackwood team mate Kiera Mueller and Double Blues captain Maya Rigter who coached the Blackwood Open Women’s side in the Hills Football League to the sides maiden premiership in 2020.

The match gets underway this Saturday afternoon from 10.10 am at X Convenience Oval with a live stream also available on the SANFL website for those who have a digital pass. We wish Lily and all the Woods players the the best for this weekend!
