Sam Venning will wear red and green in 2022 after committing to the Woods for the upcoming season.
The experienced defender joined the Woods last season making his debut in Round 1 against Hahndorf. Across the season he played in a variety of roles settling in defence where he was awarded A Grade Player of the Finals.
“I’m excited to commit to the Woods” commented Venning.
“Ever since I walked in the door at Blackwood Football Club everyone has been so welcoming and friendly.”
“Its an exciting time for the playing group and I can wait to show what we can achieve in 2022.”
Senior coach Scott Prebble said the signing of Venning was an important time for the club.
“Sam is an outstanding player who adds some coolness under-pressure to our defensive group.”
“Additionally, being a teacher by trade Sam also a bucket load of experience and ability to teach the rest of our defensive group. I am looking forward to what he can achieve as an individual in the red and green next season.”
