The Blackwood Football Club is pleased to announce Damien Venning as Women’s A Grade coach for the 2022 season.

Venning, who is a life member of the club will assume the role having previously coached in a variety of junior and senior roles at the club including being assistant in the drought breaking 2017 A Grade Men’s Grand Final and being part of the Maiden HFL Women’s title in 2019. He has also coached in various stints at West Adelaide including being assistant to Andy Collins, Under 16s coach and Head coach of the Women’s Development side.

Upon committing to the role, Venning said he was thankful for the club to give him the opportunity to coach the Women’s side.

“I am looking forward to coaching the Women’s side in the upcoming season. We are looking forward to a competitive season in the Hills Football League.”

“We have a talented squad of players and I look forward to assisting them in growing their football skills, knowledge and abilities. Bring on 2022!”

Blackwood President David Richardson said it was wonderful for someone with the coaching calibre of Venning to accept the role.

“This is an exciting appointment for the Blackwood Football Club. DV has such a rich history with the club and strong coaching resume. We are excited for what the Women’s side can achieve in Season 2022.”

Pre-Season training (plus a come & try session) will commence for the Women’s program in January with times and venues to be announced shortly.
