The Blackwood Football Club is excited to announce Daryl Sowerby as coach of the Senior Colts (Under 18 boys) team for Season 2022.

Sowerby is a familiar face around the Woods having been an assistant coach in Under 16 and Under 17.5 girls teams during 2020 and 2021. In addition to this coaching role at the Woods, Daryl has a long football history both playing and coaching where in most recent times, he has coached the Under 16 Boys Hills Football League Interleague coach in 2021 along with coaching the combined Ironbank-Bridgewater (IronRaiders) Under 16s side in 2021.

Upon taking up to the role, Sowerby said he was thankful for the club to give him the opportunity to coach the Senior Colts.

“I am excited to be taking on this role at the Woods”

“The Blackwood Football Club Senior Colts program is an exciting group of players and have achieved not only team success but also individual success over the previous a few seasons”

“The club is in a great position with some very talented players coming through the junior ranks. I hope to be able assist the players in their development (both football and life skills) and push them towards not only being ready-made senior footballers but also high quality individuals.”

“To be aligned with the Senior Football Program under coach Scott Prebble, assistants (Craig, Alex, Daniel) also has great benefits.”

“I can’t wait to get started, meet the playing group and their families and work towards our goals for the season.”
