The long-awaited verandah has finally been
erected on the oval side of the clubrooms! The new addition will certainly
be an asset on rainy days during the footy season, and gives the clubrooms
a brand new look. Thanks must got to Fielders who constructed the
verandah, in particular ex players Nick Goulding and Kym
Cobb, and also to ex Central
Districts and Collingwood player Greg Smith for erecting the structure.

And after 34 years the scoreboard at the Blackwood
Hill Oval has finally seen better days! In a bad state of disrepair, the
Mitcham Council had contemplated condemning the old board with much of the
steel frame work and timbers having rusting and rotted away. In great news
for the club, Mitcham Council have allocated $23,500 to replace the old board with a new electronic scoreboard. The new
scoreboard will not only display the scores but will also be able to
advertise sponsors, coming events and other information to spectators.
With the work on the new board to be completed in the next 2 months, the
BFC Board Members were quick off the mark to demolish the old board in
quick time! More info on the new scoreboard can be found by clicking HERE
