This weekend sees the Blackwood Football Club Men’s C Grade side play off for the ultimate prize, the 2022 HFL C Grade premiership.

The Woods will play off in the big dance against the Nairne-Bremer United Football Club from 3.00pm at Hanson Oval (Mt Barker) on Sunday the 14th of August. This years Grand Final will the ninth Grand Final the C Grade side has played in since 2010 with a six-and-two winning record from the eight played played over this period.

In the minor rounds, the Woods and Rams have met on two occasions with the Rams winning both times. In Round 5 at Nairne Oval, the Woods were jumped in the opening quarter trailing by 27 points at the first break to eventually suffer a 67 point defeat while in Round 12 the sides went toe-for-toe in the first half before the Woods were defeated by 36 points on Saturday evening at KX Pilates Blackwood Oval.

Across the minor rounds, the Rams ranked as the number one attack in the competition scoring on averaging 80.3 points compared to the Woods who ranked number three averaging scoring 65.3 points. In defence, the sides were relatively even with the Rams conceding 29.1 points (rank two) compared to the Woods who on average conceded 34.9 points to rank third.
