Macreadie playing for Gaza in 2017

The Blackwood Football Club is excited to announce the signing of Ben Macreadie for the 2018 season. Macreadie is a strong bodied midfielder / forward who also impacts the game on the scoreboard.

Macreadie said he was thrilled to be joining Blackwood. “I know a few of the boys who currently play for the Woods from my days at West Adelaide. I am excited to join the club and play alongside them again.”

Originally from Victoria, Macreadie moved to Adelaide in 2011 to play for the West Adelaide Football Club, then coached by Andrew Collins. In the four seasons he played for West Adelaide, Macreadie played a total of 73 league matches, kicking 38 goals and was named in the best players on 27 occasions. In 2015, he moved back to his home club (Rosedale Football Club) as a playing coach. He then moved back to Adelaide in 2016 where he has played the last two seasons for the Gaza Football Club in the Adelaide Footy League.

In day to day life, Macreadie works as a electrician, has a partner (Hannah) and enjoys what any bloke usually does.

Welcome to the Mighty Woods. We look forward to seeing you running around in the red and the green.
