Blackwood Football Club Senior Colt Liam McCarthy has won his second successive Hills Football League Mail Medal. At the presentation count on Monday evening, McCarthy polled 24 votes to win the medal by the one solitary vote.

McCarthy, the son of 200 club player and life member Nick McCarthy, had an outstanding season where he kicked 26 goals from fourteen games including a bag of four goals in Round 3. In the back half of the season he picked up five best on ground performances from the seven matches he played.

During the season McCarthy also played two B Grade games, once against Uraidla in Round 7 and again in Round 17 against Hahndorf.
